As long as the msm choose to believe IIIT's propaganda, getting the truth out will be a long haul.
Last night, on "The O'Reilly Factor," Franklin Graham's warning was put down by words from Bill, the essence of which was that Islam has been perverted by the jihadists.
Westerners want to believe that Islam is a peaceful religion, but history shows otherwise, even before the rise of Wahhabism.
In fact, John Adams said the following:
"…he [Muhammad] declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind…The precept of the Koran is, perpetual war against all who deny, that Mahomet is the prophet of God....Thus the jihad may be regarded as Islam’s instrument for carrying out its ultimate objective by turning all people into believers...The Prophet Muhammad is reported to have declared ‘some of my people will continue to fight victoriously for the sake of the truth until the last one of them will combat the anti-Christ’. Until that moment is reached the jihad, in one form or another will remain as a permanent obligation upon the entire Muslim community..."

I am not an overly religious man, by any standards. But there is a verse in Isaiah 30:8-10 that speaks of people that "...say to the seers, see not; and unto the prophets, prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits".
So you are 100% right. People like to be lied to. They don't want to always know the truth because sometimes the truth hurts like hell. They want a comfort zone free from reality.

Another excellent source of inforation on the Wahhabbi Islamic movement and Saudi Arabia is Dore Gold's book: "Hatred's Kingdom." I had wondered about what a diplomat could tell me about Islamism. It turns out Gold started this research for his doctoral studies.
He does an excellent job showing the growth of this movement and its funding. When Egypt kicked out the Islamic Brotherhood (Hamas, Al Qaeda, and others grew out of the Brotherhood), Saudi Arabia welcomed their soulmates with open arms. I urge people to learn about the 5th column of Islamists in our country and around the world - all funded with Saudi money.
Of course, I'm preaching to the choir here but you never know who is reading these pages. Good job, Mustang.

Mustang,
I heard Tony Cordesman speak on CSPAN last night. He was talking about NOT counting numbers (people) in terms of military forces. He said it was only those well trained, cohesion and discipline units that count.
That's you. Maybe Horation at the Bridge, but a real warrior and messenger. Keep on...keeping on. Maybe your voice, albeit in the wind, will be heard by the right people and maybe they will act.

Mustang, you have done (and continue to do) a great service with bringing this stuff to light. It certainly does seem like people would prefer to be lied to, to hold onto their beliefs, no matter how out-dated they've become since 9/11 shined its bright light on the war we must now fight. It's either us or them. And unlike the fantasy brigade with their heads firmly in the sand, I want it to be us.

one could hope we will get guidance from washington .If not it may become a reality were the citizen may have to rise up in their own defense.

KAOSKTRL: As we have seen in the case of the so-called “minute men” auxillaries guarding our southern border, federal law enforcement, nor anyone in their chain of command (including the president) endorses the participation of citizens in the defense of the United States. One border patrol officer said, “They keep setting off our sensors, and then we have to respond by sending officers over to check it out.” Of course, this is simply a matter of inclusion and coordination, and in the meanwhile, our government continues its poor performance in protecting America from illegal immigrants.
Now why is this important? People who make their money by smuggling illegal immigrants into the United States are just as capable of bringing in illegal immigrants who are also middle eastern terrorists, not to mention weapons of mass destruction. It is not necessary for a WMD to be large, as most people think of size when imagining nuclear devices; chemical and biological weapons can be very small. This is worrisome when one considers the several hundred foreign truck drivers who are operating “hazardous material” vehicles on FORGED DOCUMENTS. So as I have said on more than one occasion, the question isn’t “what to do” in case the terrorists come here . . . they ARE here.
In spite of this, I do not think it is proper for armed vigilantes to start roaming our communities looking for people wearing turbans, or for people whose skin color is just a bit darker than our own. There are some Muslims who embrace America in the spirit of brotherhood and inclusion, and Hispanics have become part of our society and are every bit “American” as the rest of us. It is simply impossible to tell by looking at someone whether they are fanatics, illegal migrants, or criminals who are up to no good. We must not allow innocent people to be harmed; otherwise we are no better than the insurgents in Iraq.
I do think it is appropriate for Americans to be watchful of events in their own communities, but do not stop at evaluating the activities of the local Wahhabi mosque; communities should also be worried about what their school aged children are being taught about Islam in the classroom. Citizens who are concerned should start a massive letter-writing campaign to members of Congress, and to the President, which demands PROACTIVE vice reactive measures in our own defense. For example, why shouldn’t citizens’ volunteer groups be a welcome addition to the role of federal or local law enforcement? Citizens should certainly be talking with local leaders, and local and county law enforcement officers, and state officials about what THEY are doing to protect you and your families.
There have been some successes against domestic terrorists—but I don’t think that it has been more than a dent in the overall problem. It is certain that the three or so million illegal immigrants who evaded our border patrol last year do present a problem, so I think there is plenty for u

I don't know it's so much that we like to be lied to as we like to be ignorant, but either or you get the same end result.
