Gravatar Last night on 60 Minutes, Biden fawned all over Obama. In reference to Obama's speech at the stadium in Denver, Biden said, "He reached up and grabbed the lightning" -- a reference to Zeus, I suppose.

If Biden is supposed to be the adult supersiving Obama and the two of them get elected, there will be no adult present.

Gravatar "supervising" just cracked me up..Hilarious if it weren't QUITE so true.

I wish I'd seen SIXTY MINUTES last night..a neighbor came over this afternoon and told us he kept thinking "WOW, is Obama SO weak that he has to rely on Biden on ALL of this!?" it really affected him in that way....that Obama was supremely weak.

Anybody know if the story's absolutely true that Biden suggested giving $200 MILLION to Iran after 9/11 so they'd be sure we like them and all other muslims? It's a story I've read several times, but to be fair, if it was at a Biden meeting, who'd have leaked it. Still...it's supposedly correct?

I had to Google BOHICA. Yikes!! heee hee!

GOOD to see another excellent Mustang piece...but, it's depressing, isn't it. THIS is someone who would kick Israel down the minute he could. Funny, there's an Iranian dissident living in Ashraf, Iraq, who comments at frontpagemag. He keeps telling us Biden's in bed with the mullahs$$ and intent on America's BOHICA'ing, so to speak....

Gravatar These are the times that try men's souls.

Gravatar So this is our national security plans? Iran will go nuclear, get used to it, and at all costs, surrender, surrender, surrender. God help us. (the real God, not Obama)

Gravatar shhhh, obama's thought police may silence you.
It is stunning how bden is the expert and wrong so often. He has a safe re-election so he doesn't try. I understand he is smarter than me, no small feat. But back it up with some common sense. You wonder if he could change a tire?

Gravatar The reader will recall that Joe Biden is the man upon whom Barack Obama will rely for adult supervision....good one my friend! Hoorah!

Gravatar This (dumb) Dem duo is really frightening. Can you imagine if a communist community organizer and a pseudo "foreign specialist" stick their head together to guess a strategy? I'd be shaking in my boots and praying if I were Israel.

I do know the area and the people well enough (something which escapes the Dem Team) to know that the only thing these guys around Israel (including Iran) understand and fear is brutal force. Any move to the contrary will be met with LOL, we will be designated as weaklings without resolve, something which we will never be able to overcome in talks around the table sipping on green tea.

Biden's notion "get used to it" is just about the most stupid thing I have heard anybody say about the region.

Mr.Z

Gravatar I heard about this on the radio today. It would appear that a very reputable source is being drug through the mud. Biden is quite often of the cuff and gets caught putting foot in mouth regularly. There will be more where this came from. N

Gravatar I read about this, too. What a dolt. The gaffe machine has already begun. He told a woman at a rally if he had a full head of hair he'd be the Presidential candidate and not the 'dinky' job. What is it with him and his hair? Creepy.

It's tweedle dum and tweedle dee.

Gravatar Z ... the story is true. Michael Crowley writing for The New Republic in October 2001 reported Biden's idea to give $200 million to Iran "to demonstrate that we don't have anything against Arabs." Well, the Iranians aren't Arabs to begin with ... but we should wonder why a senior US Senator would want to give OUR money away to the enemy, which is the government of Iran.

If that's an example of "foreign policy expertise," we're in deep, deep doo.

Gravatar Someone willing to stand up to the Likud welfare queens. Outstanding.

I was lukewarm about Biden but hanging around right wing sites makes me a little more comfortable with this ticket.

Gravatar Sooo....who will be supervising Biden as he supervises Obama?

Oh no, please don't bring up the Carter administration, it still gives me nightmares.

Gravatar Why in the (flithy word) is Joe Biden the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee? A) This guy IS an idiot. B) This guy is a serial liar.

OK, I know why....and it speaks volumes about the awful seniority system of both houses of Congress. Further, is speaks volumes about the Senate Majority Leader and his immediate henchmen.

I hope Governor Palin eats Biden for dinner at their debate.

Finally, re: Experience. Some folks are slow (or No) learners. While they are older they still don't know much (or anything). Others are fast learners and, because they're curious and interested, they are always learning. While smart older experienced folks may trump younger less experienced (but smart) folks, we ought never assume that older MEANS more experienced. World War II was won by colonels in their early thirties. Audie Murphy looked like, and chronologically was, a kid. However, by his moxie and courage (you really need both) he was able to lead older men and kill all kinds of Germans.

I am an "old" guy. I don't like smart-ALECK younger people, but I DO like, smart, hard-working, get the job done, younger people. You can be mature and young. You can be a lying nitwit and old (Biden).

Gravatar Tad, are you in or out. I hear that you military guys hate administrations that don't have a good number of conflicts because it blocks your promotions.
Seems like a good reason to go to war, right? What say you?

Gravatar Tad, are you in or out? I hear that you military guys hate administrations that don't have a good number of conflicts because it blocks your promotions. Seems like a good reason to go to war, right? What say you?

Ducky, while Tad can answer for himself, I discern the presence of your typical leftist sneer, which has become your hallmark. By now, I realize you can’t help it. And, since you have never placed yourself in harms way on behalf of any citizen, it makes sense that you could not possibly know the answer … no matter how obvious it should be to real people.

First, personnel structure depends on assigned mission. The mission of a land army requires more personnel and equipment than does a naval infantry. Each military service has its own table of organization, but it generally comes down to some number of officers for some quantity of enlisted personnel. Currently, the Marine Corps has the fewest number of officers serving on active duty, and the least officer to enlisted ratio. All personnel advancements take place within those tables of organization, and they are based on meritorious performance, continuing education, and demonstrated leadership ability.

It should make sense to you that a service requires more junior personnel than they do seniors. For example, there are more privates than second lieutenants, and fewer colonels than captains. People who join the services understand that there is a greater opportunity for promotion in the larger services than within the smaller structures. Under normal conditions, a typical Marine officer can expect promotion four or five times within a twenty-year career. The average colonel has served 26 to 32 years of active duty. I don’t know anyone who served in combat who “loves the smell of napalm in the morning.” That is simply Hollywood drivel, but I can understand how you might have bought into it.

That said, let’s see how history reflects upon “administrations” who love a good war. Woodrow Wilson (D), World War I. Franklin D. Roosevelt (D), World War II. Harry S. Truman (D), Korean War. John F. Kennedy (D), and Lyndon B. Johnson (D), Vietnam War. I’m not suggesting that any of these conflicts were avoidable given the general incompetence of leftist politicians – but I will say that world conflict is a fact. I’ve never met a combat veteran who yearns for war or one who hopes we can keep the drums beating so that he or she can earn a promotion … but again, I can understand how the concept of service to America is foreign to you. I know, I know … you pay your taxes.

Gravatar Mr. Ducky,

While I often disagree with positions you've taken in the past, I have mostly respected the intellectual process you went through arrive at one conclusion or another.

Sir, I have seen war personally. I was in a Marine infantry platoon in the late RVN. I have seen people, who I knew well, die. I have seen people I didn't know well, die.

I have studied, at professional military academic institutions, at civilian universities and very much on my own, military history and about violence and conflict and how people over the centuries "did" that. It is a woeful story.

However, humans are as they are. They, despite all the stumming guitars and "anti-war" demonstations are still violent for a host of reasons too long to list here.

I hate really bad and really awful people that to really awful things to others whom are weak. I would, still, be grimly "happy" to put rounds through they amoral bodies.

I was never a member of the Marines (32 years) for promotion. Sure, most everyone would like to advance in pay and prestige, but the real joy of my Marine experience was to know and be around lots and lots of selfless and truly decent people.

While the Corps, though the smallest service in the U.S., is still just shy of 200,000 in number. Given that number you would naturally find some nitwits and some criminals. We deal with them. My family always felt safer on a Marine base with thousands of young males armed to the teeth than in a neighborhood in some city. We have less crime that any like group of civilians.

I am truly flumoxed by your question. Possibly you would wish to amendent it?

I must be off to class just now. I will be talking, among other things about the Kitty Genovese story of 1964 and the failure (think Chamberlain circa 1939) of people to protect other people.

I remain,

Semper Fidelis. No time to proof this...but you will, I hope, discern my meanings.

Gravatar Ducky, only YOU would think Biden's a better guy for having offered $200mill to Iran after 9/11 for 'no hard feelings...we still like ya, heh heh' You feel safer with that 'foreign relations experience'?

As for your remark to Tad? You should be ashamed of yourself. Look up the word. It's one that's not used much these days.

I congratulate Tad and Mustang for their service....there are no words for what I think of you for having said this. God forgive you.

Gravatar Don't forget Biden was endorsed by the Iranians, the same people who want to wipe Israel off the map.
