Meanwhile in England, Gore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth" has a
restraining order against showing it to school children because it has
so much flawed science and disinformation. It seems even the "Nanny
State" doesn't want to spoon feed their children lies yet our "We can't read a bill before we pass it" leaders find it completely acceptable to create more tax burdens based on junk science and a scam! In my opinion, just voting them out isn't enough, they should be facing time in jail, just like Bernie Madeoff!

It is amazing that someone would vote on a bill they have not read...but these are politicians and money talks. Sparkly little stars develop in their eyes when they see the green and figure out what actions can keep them in power.
Greed + Power = Corruption.
The scariest thing? Will their constituents stand up for what is right or revel in the fact that their congressmen brought in more money to their district? The greed can go both ways.

"Waxman-Markey subsidizes
‘Shower Nazi’
Canada Free Press, by Steve Milloy
June 30, 2009
A “Shower Nazi” may be coming your way courtesy of Waxman-Markey.
Section 217 of the bill provides for a “water efficient product incentive program” that would provide rebates, vouchers, direct installs and other forms of financial assistance for the installation of water-saving products.
The Shower Manager not only puts time limits on the shower, it also cuts the water flow when the time has expired. Our unique shower timer is a patented two-phase flow controller that permits a full-flow of water for a time period you select, (5, 8 or 11 minutes) and then restricts the water flow by two-thirds when that time limit expires. You set the full-flow Interval that best fits your lifestyle and lock it in using a special magnetic sensor.

Hoosier Mom,
That is not the end but only the beginning. All water resources will be controlled. Your well, your spring or what ever other source that you many use even thought it is on YOUR PRIVATE TAX PAID, BOUGHT AND PAID FOR LAND WILL BE METERED!
I and others have said that the next war will not be fought over oil but water. Looks as if it may begin right here in the US.
I have property in WNC which has a spring, a well and a good creek on it. Damned if they will control mine without killing me first. I have some good explosives and will destroy the well & the spring before they get to control it.

One thing that blocks a rational discussion of this bill is the trumpeting of the $1700 figure as if it is hard truth.
The right may figure out at some point that those tactics put it on the sideline but maybe not.

oh, no, Ducky, we will not step aside and ignore the truth about this bill..NO WAY.
You leftwingers might want to live with your heads in the sand, but we can't...we love this country far too much. And we love freedom.
Anyway, the amount isn't the point, is it...We all said, countless times during the campaigning , that Obama couldn't not raise taxes. He can call it what he wants, but the middle class is getting creamed with this bill.
And he knows it. And so do you.

Perhaps, Ducky would like to pick up the tab for the extra cost we will all see if this bill is passed through the Senate.

Some quite different numbers
But you really just have to use your common sense and be a wee bit skeptical of sources which have the primary motivation of scaring you into opposition. Remember, Leslie, conservatives only act out of fear so we have to be skeptical of their positions.

"Most problematic is the CBO's complete omission of the economic damage resulting from restricted energy use. As footnote 3 on page 4 of the CBO analysis reads, "The resource cost does not indicate the potential decrease in gross domestic product (GDP) that could result from the cap. The reduction in GDP would also include indirect general equilibrium effects, such as changes in the labor supply resulting from reductions in real wages and potential reductions in the productivity of capital and labor."[4] In The Heritage Foundation's analysis of the Waxman-Markey climate change legislation, the GDP hit in 2020 was $161 billion (2009 dollars). For a family of four, that translates into $1,870--a pretty big chunk of change that the CBO is ignoring."
Well, those numbers look awfully similar to the facts presented in this blog post. Imagine that.
But you really have to use common sense and be a little bit skeptical of bias media sources who are in the tank for this administration and who's primary motivation is selling out the American people.
Remember, Ducky, libs will tell you anything in order to get you to buy into their agenda. YOU CAN TRUST YOUR GOVERNMENT no need to pay attention, no need to research REAL statistics, we will tell you all you need to know...go back to sleep.

RECORDING: Your mission, Mr. Phelps, if you choose to accept it, is to decide which of the two commenters has the most credibility: Ducky, who sources CNN Money, a 300-word article, or Leslie, who references an exhausting study by the Heritage Foundation and Congressional Budget Office. Of course, if either you or any of your IM force are killed or captured, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your activities.
PHELPS: I’ll go with Leslie.

Interesting advice, Ducky. I haven’t seen much in the way of common sense from the left. As far as skepticism, yes well … always a good thing —such as the skepticism you generate relying on CNN to make your sophomoric argument. Fear is not the word I would use: I think genuine, thoughtful concern is more appropriate. But you know … you gave it a good shot today. No cigar, but you will keep trying, won’t you?

I sure hope you are right and every single one of them will be voted out in 2010. They have betrayed every single American that is alive today and have spit on the graves who died for them.

Ducky,
$1700 or $175, the question is which? In my experience in government, the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.
Even settling on the cost, it still says nothing about how ridiculous the theory is to begin with. Bogus costs are merely distractions in the bigger picture here.
More and more scientists have defected from the junk science argument. Al Gore and his minions have yet to debate any of them, but they have done everything to silence their voices. If these dumbasses had an ounce of courage, they would face their critics in an intellectual forum like scientists with theories are required to do in most disciplines, before the theories are accepted.
You can be naive, if you wish. It's totally your right. But if I were you, I would stick to the abstract arts you are familiar with; I would certainly leave the concrete science and understanding of how government works to those with the proper education and experience.
