Ian - Your posts are always so interesting. I know what you mean about the baseball/summer-worship thing. As a kid I was dragged to every little league field in the mid-west to watch my brother the "future mlb star" pitch his way to the pros --the outcome? Well, that's a different story entirely....but I've grown to really miss baseball. I don't watch much of it on TV but when I see there's a game on, I stop on it for a few innings. It just seems to lighten the soul a bit.

I don't care about baseball. I never have. It's the only sport where guys with huge beer bellies can play and get paid way too much money to do pretty much nothing. I know, for those of you who love it, it's better than sex (and if that's true, we should talk about your technique)... but for me, I'll only watch it if I can have my own keg attached to my head via one of those stupid hats (and I want good beer dammit!). That way, I'm so inebriated that it doesn't matter what's going on anyway. And what's up with those ugly players? And why do they constantly show closeups of the ugliest, most out of shape, nasty looking, coke-snorting, gold-chain wearing, wife-beating players - you know, the one's with the mullets... I want hot action at those games, dammit!

What sort of baseball games have you been watching? Do they consist of caged fighting men paid by the win? Maybe you are mistaken and have never actually seen a baseball game. Baseball is the one where the player holds a bat and tries to hit a ball that is pitched to him. There is lots of strategy involved. As for the players you describe, what the hell are you talking about? Most of the players are pretty damn cute, albeit in a Nicholas Cage way more than a Jason Priestly way. I will trust that your malicious statements above come from a place of ignorance, and I will try to forgive you. I know where you sit all day long. I will be watching you. Stop defiling WULAD with your erroneous commentary on the greatest sport that is regularly on television.
