We would love to burn couches in Morgantown after a game. So atavistic...

I made that same JoePa forward-pass joke. Great minds...
I like your UVA analysis. Is Al Groh a good coach? He gets these dudes on campus, but then it's like Groundhog Day every season.

In a way, I like UVA's coaching staff. Groh is a Parcells guy, so he can flash the Super Bowl ring at recruits, and Ron Prince (OC) is a young, African-American Cornell grad who will likely be part of any progressive program's coaching search. We do have the talent, but it's never at the same time. If only Schaub was still around last year...I think we had 7 players drafted in 2005, but look at the spread: 2 TE, RB, 2 DL, LB, OL. And we have three possible first rounders for 2006, 2 LB (Brooks, Parham), OL (D'Brickhouse). The problem is that Groh recruits like a Parcells guy, if you get what I'm saying.
Our problem last year is that we didn't trust Hagans, especially when we weren't playing with a lead. Against the Football U's, our playcalling was ludicrously conservative and ineffective, with the exception of some parts of the Miami game, possibly attributable to the fact that it was at Scott Stadium. We've got some young guys who could be home-run hitters, but Groh will pull 'em for the year if they fumble in the Western Michigan game when it's 45-0.
In other words, we've gotta open things up in the passing game or it's back to Boise.

First off, would S. Florida over PSU even be considered an upset?
Not like your (or any) prognistications amount to much more than a load of rich, creamery butter, but on Sportscenter this morning, Trev Alberts picked PSU as one of his 'sleeper teams.' Keep in mind, this is tantamount to Hitler wearing a "Jesse Owens FanClub" T-shirt.
The D is solid and if our QB can put up more than 4 ppg (god willing), they'll be bowling by October.

10-6, 6-5, 10-6, 5-3, 7-6, 10-8, 8-5, 2-0, 10-8, 5-2, 7-5, 6-2...PSU's 2005 season or the results of twelve Phillies games from June 1-12?
