Gravatar but we've got a new defensive coordinator! He's "charismatic"!

Gravatar Got a link to the Cowherd shit?

Also, Boise's in the WAC, everyone else you mention in the MWC. And on that same note, I like Boise's chances to have a pretty nice year, even with Hawkins gone. The head coach was the OC, so they shouldn't miss too much there and it's not like they play defense, before or after Hawkins.

Gravatar Yeah, that's just an editing error right there with the MWC/WAC mixup. Good catch.

Anyways, here's the original Cowherd link from my comments (his voice is priceless. It's like he told someone to call him so he could start the gag)...

Gravatar Awesome stuff, Ian. Just when I'm getting annoyed by your lack of posting, you drop this gem on us. I am a demanding reader, I am.

Thanks.

Gravatar Great post Ian! I only take mild exception to Maryland coming in to Morgantown to get a win. This game will be played on a Thursday night in Morgantown, 5 days after both teams play a cupcake. If it was at Maryland, I would agree.

Gravatar Of course, I am sold on the post by the title alone...and yes...I know damn well what review you mean. I think that one is definitely within the realm of Joey's jurisdiction. As for this one

I'm calling it all my own. Read it and weep.

Gravatar Johnny, you're right. Should've looked closer; I thought ACC teams were sticking with conference games for "Thursday Night Lights." For crying out loud, UVA plays two of 'em. Since I'll be on the West Coast, that makes it a happy hour situation.

But anyways, if there are two teams that I'm loathe to pick against on a Thursday night, it's WVU and VT, and if it's in Morgantown, I'm going with WVU. Something tells me that the Moutaineers are gonna lose some game they really shouldn't, and that seemed like a good bet. The Terps have a pretty stout defense coming back.

Gravatar I hope your wrong Ian. I just have this vision of Louisville players chanting "Kill the Mountaineers" in syncopation with every exersize they do.

Gravatar Glad you took on the Cowherd comments. It was too much for one man. Apparently, that's his schtick. He just moves from one school to another, tossing out stereotypical insults to spawn public uproar. A few years ago, he routinely destroyed VPI for being a bunch of hick, cow-tipping blahblahblah. So it wasn't personal, just an example of what talk radio has resorted to in the Stephen A. Smith "I can shout louder than you" generation.

Gravatar I agree. I think even the Tech fans knew better than to jump on us for that. Apparently, he said some foul stuff about Penn State as well, but about what I can't remember. All I know was that filling up a 30 minute talk show every week was tough enough for me. He's gotta do something to pass the time.

That still doesn't change the fact that he sucks at life.

Gravatar You know, there are some places where "high academic standards" and "rabid football fanbase" can co-exist peascefully. Like at ND, for instance.

Gravatar Uh, I mentioned Notre Dame as an exception. But the thing is with them is that they have an entirely unique situation with an independent status, a national fanbase, their own TV channel and the College Football Hall of Fame right there in South Bend.

And there are many great schools with great football teams and rabid fanbases (UGA, Michigan, Texas), but they're three to four times our size.

Gravatar My bad, I didn't see you mention us. for the record, you guys are almost twice our size.

Gravatar Word. But once again, ND has an irreplicable situation, particularly since anyone who's Irish or wants to be has the potential to be an enormous ND fan without ever setting foot anywhere near South Bend. I'm not saying UVA can't potentially field a good football team. It's just that "hardcore" fanbases don't pop up out of nowhere, and it's useless to take offense to what a guy like Cowherd says. And for the record, I'm quite popular at Tech Sideline right now. I guess they forgot all the times Cowherd called them cow tippers and chokers.

But take Cal...they do a pretty good job of filling out the stadium and have consistently good teams, but are they ever going to be known as something other than a freaky liberal haven? UVA is known as a preppy school and always will be.

Gravatar Ian, you spend wayyyy to much time writing this crap,I bey you have a pretty small penis, but maybe you will get lucy some time... good luck.

Gravatar "Otherwise, you're dealing with a university that competes with the Ivy Leagues for its students."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Tony - Cornell grad

Gravatar Sweet...now I know I've made it big.

Anyways, Kevin- I hope when you're banging three chicks at a time with your enormous penis, you tell them that you spent time making misspelled, pointless comments on someone's blog. Because that's an even bigger sign of manhood.

And Tony, I'm glad someone of your genius stopped by to comment. Who wouldn't spend $40k a pop to spend four years at the "state school" Ivy League? Maybe you can tell me why so many of y'all find that jumping off a gorge is a viable alternative to being a Cornell student.

Gravatar Isn't Cornell the Clemson of the Ivy League, minus the attractive coeds and decent football?
