My only problem with the premise of The Big Over Easy is that it's the same plot as Robert Rankin's Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse, which was published three years ago.

And I mean exactly the same, down to the identity of the murder victim.

Seems to be a coincidence. CHOCOLATE BUNNIES was published first, but according to Fforde, he wrote the first draft of this novel in 1994 (when it was rejected by everyone under the sun - the published version is a drastic rewrite). That's why it first turns up in THE WELL OF LOST PLOTS.
