Damn it, you're making me interested in wrestling now. I can tell I'm going to watch this and start getting into the stories after a lifetime of avoiding it.

Be warned: a lot of it is absolutely dire. This is not the best time to be getting into wrestling.

Coincidentally, I was just reading a preview of Unforgiven on a wrestling website, before deciding to jump over to your site. Didn't know you were into wrestling too, but I really enjoyed your take on the current state of WWE.

Will you be reviewing any more wrestling? I like the humorously awfulness of wrestling, but I'm way too lazy to sift through to junk. Plus, I love your writing, so it'll be even more entertaining.

It's funny; I never expected to see you write, with interest, about wrestling, although I'm not actually surprised. There's considerable crossover interest, as the WWE is, almost literally, superhero comics made flesh.
So much so, in fact, that I wonder why more comics writers don't write wrestling plots on the side.
I remember when the tag team stuff was great fun, with the Bushwackers, the Natural Disasters and my personal favourites, the Legion of Doom (whatever happened to them?). Even the less colourful recent stuff was interesting; the small-but-acrobatic Hardy Boys stand out, as do those two "Japanese" blokes who had their pre-match trash talk dubbed in a comedic fashion ("Indeeeed.") and never one a match in all the time I watched Channel Four's Sunday-morning wrestling. They were great fun.

The two Japanese guys were Kaientai - Taka Michinoku and Sho Funaki - and while they were great in that role, Taka especially was a fantastic wrestler who they could have done so much more with.
As for the Legion of Doom, Hawk died a couple of years ago, and Animal is currently on Smackdown to promote his career retrospective DVD. So naturally they paired him with a random big guy and made him tag team champion again. (Sigh)

Ah yes, the PURE EVIL of Kaientai. I thought they were hilarious, and it was a shame that they were never allowed to win.
Interesting "fighters" too, as they were another set of small guys, and the smaller fellows tend to be more interesting to watch.

So what did you think of the show?

Ohio Valley refers to the areas that run along the Ohio River which forms the border between Kentucky in the south and Ohio, Indiana and Illinois to the north. Yes, it's called the Ohio River, even though Kentucky's border extends across the waters to the northern edge of the river, thereby, technically making it part of the Bluegrass state. The result is lush, forested hills, everchanging weather patterns and a nasty allergy season.
