As a fan of The Wedding Present and Sons and Daughters, I'd really like to check out their videos on cable TV. Maybe if I bothered to watch MTV2 beyond three minutes at a time I might actually catch them. I mean, I could plough through the Jackass reruns and Coheed and Cambria videos, but by the time something like "Subterranean" comes on, VH1 Classic's already showing "The Alternative", so I'm pretty much going, "Fuck it, I want to watch videos by the Mary Chain and Pere Ubu."
Well, that's why you need a Sky+ box.
The other option for British viewers who can't be bothered staying up all night is to try MTV2 on Mondays at 7pm. Nominally that's the MTV2 viewers chart show, but the Monday night show is actually an hour of new videos for that week, which usually includes some surprisingly obscure stuff. (After all, they've got an hour to fill.)
