Gravatar Unfortunately, the BBC Apprentice is available free, but not for American readers. I just tried watching it and got a regretful notice saying due to territorial rights issues, it was off-limits to me.

Gravatar Tsk. They're probably planning to air it on BBC America, then.

Gravatar Jo's reaction to winning the task was priceless. I'm torn between wanting to see her trampled to death and wanting to see what fabulously idiotic move she'll make next. Telly gold.

Gravatar Good write up. I shall make the effort to start watching. Saw the Tim do though, which just looked hugely underwhelming (if you ignore the fact he essentially got a prize of 60/70 grand minus tax for winning, which at least goes some way to cover the two months plus the series probably caused him to take off work).

Gravatar Speaking for all the television-viewers of America, I must express my disappointment that the BBC chose to use the "reality" genre to actually teach viewers something about business. I can picture an American TV producer using your description as a guide to how not to make a reality show.

Sir Alan Sugar? Was Richard Brason busy? I know he already did it, sort of, but he's the most obvious British Trump analogue I can think of. Heck, if you want the real Trump, you can have him.

What does it say about me that with 150 channels of American TV to watch, I'm just waiting patiently for the premiere of Doctor Who next month?

Gravatar Richard Branson's already making a competing show for an American network, and I tend to agree with the BBC's judgment here. Sugar may be much further down the pecking order, but he's indisputably successful in his own right, has a suitably normal business that actually illustrates how product launches and so forth work (unlike Trump's), and he's turned out to be a great TV character. While Trump's show is about pushing the glory of Trump, Sugar comes across as an exasperated curmudgeon who can't believe the cluelessness of these people, but secretly wishes he was out there playing the game himself.

Gravatar You sure about Jo not having a "hope in hell"? Alan either has her picked as the winner, or is keeping her on to see how much she can outvent. How she survived week 3 is beyond me. Does make for good tv though.

Gravatar Hello from America. I write a blog about the Trump version of the Apprentice (www.apprenticeviews.com). Was not aware there was a UK version.

The BBC blocks me from viewing your episodes online. Would someone be willing to email me or getting some of the episodes on CD or FTP? I'd love to see your version!

Let me know and thank you!

Stephen
