Gravatar Even though "L'Auberge Espanol" - a cult movie here in Portugal - is a bit better, this is still a fun and worthwhile sequel.

Gravatar Minor nitpick : L'auberge espagnole actually translates to the Spanish Inn.

Gravatar Saw it, loved it...

Then I saw La Dolce Vita a few days later. Quite apart from the fact that it's frighteningly vibrant for a black-and-white film made in 1960, it makes a very interesting comparison. I'm pretty sure the heavy parallels in style and structure are deliberate moves on Klapisch's part...

That said, Russian Dolls is one of those films which works without you having to know the metatext...

Go see it. Go see 'em both. Then see 'em again.

Gravatar I freakin' love those Orange ads. I want a DVD of them all.
Yes, I realise how sad this makes me, but I don't care because I'm oh so very in love.

Gravatar Russian Dolls? Huh? Join the masses, stop washing, go to see X-Men 3 and be as shocked as I was that it really isn't that bad at all.
