I found the Aaron & Kubert story laugh out load funny in quite a few spots. Aaron also wrote a great Spider-man, good amount of funny, not too much loser (there's too much loser in BND)

"And although Way's story is a reasonably accessible, self-contained affair, Aaron embarks on a breakneck parody of Wolverine continuity which will be utterly meaningless to new readers."
To make matters worse for prospective new readers, isn't that entirely the opposite of their respective titles?

Paul,
Silly typo gripe: you wrote, "New Avengers, Uncanny X-Men, Astonishing X-Men, X-Force and New Avengers."
I might as well ask this now, since I'm complaining: Why do you always have covers that I can click on to see in the identical size (and mottled-ness) of the original?

Nah, Aaron's parody is intentional. Way's just works out that way.

I prefer to think that Wolverine: Origins is a pastiche played very very straight. How else do you explain Wolverine's mohawked son?

I just wonder how long it took Kubert to draw that issue. 3, 4 months?

I think Jason Aaron and Daniel Way need to have an arm wrestling match to determine who will write all the Wolverine comics, and Daniel Way should have to drink a six-pack of beer first plus have his thumbs broken and also be stung by a bunch of bees.

Yes, I suppose the moral of the 'supremely busy' story was a bit tacked on at the end, but it didn't ring quite as hollow as it could have. Yes, the idea that one man is doing all of these things at once is illogical (especially given the fact that Origins likes to jump continents on a dime), but the emotional 'punchline' works even if you ignore some of the more frivolous appearances used in part one of the story as humour.
I enjoyed it.
The biker story wasn't bad, but I found it the weaker of the two.

I loved the Jason Aaron story. Best Wolverine solo stories I've read in ages.

I was left confused by the biker story, unsure of what exactly happened at the end of it. I think it was the scratchy art, the fact that the story was split in two, and the fact that I couldn't muster enough effort to try to work it out.

"Problem is, if you take Wolverine's continuity literally, and try to make sense of all his many, many engagements, it's just too stupid - and too cynical - to form the basis for drama."
You see, I think this has been my problem with most of Marvel and DC's output over the last five years. I don't need everything to be "fun," which seems to be a meaningless defensive cry for nostalgia from some readers, but my god, I wish these writers would stop turning everything into such a series affair.
I mean, Skrulls were just goofy green dude with wrinkly chins and big ears, and now they're religious terrorists. Skrulls. Come on!

Joe Quesada designed Daken. I think that's all you need to know about how the design came to be and how the bloody hell it got past editorial.

The Aaron/Kubert issue sounds quite fun, I may have to investigate.

Unfortunately you have to buy both issues. I would;ve gladly skipped the Way fill in story. I'd have called it an average fill in story, but the way the bikers talk, and the fact that one of them is named Horrorshow, it's kind of embarressing.

I think the implication is meant to be that Horrorshow was a big fan of A Clockwork Orange in his youth.

I really didn't get the second half of Aaron's story either. Spider-Man didn't make a point that Yukio didn't already hint at in the first half. And since Spider-Man showed up in like one panel in the first story it doesn't quite track.
I may be in the minority, but I usually love seeing Spider-man and Wolverine interact, and this just felt hollow. Where's Zeb Wells when you really need him?

I actually enjoyed Spider and Logan interacting in part 2. Not that this story really gives you much to clue to it, but they are team-mates in New Avengers and spend a bit of time together these days. I just read it as Peter was looking out for a comrade-in-arms.
