Those commercials have been a bit wearying, but I thought the Steve Austin one was quite good. On the other hand, I've no idea who thought that commercial with the divas would be a good idea.

"Umaga's had decent matches with John Cena"
"decent"? The Rumble match was the best WWE main event in at least a year.

DL, from what I have gathered, apparently CM Punk believes his own hype and has decided he's the next best thing, and on different occasions has told his bosses as much.
As you might guess, they didn't take too well to it. Add to the fact he doesn't exactly look like what WWE thinks of as "star marerial," and you have an unfortunate, Matt Hardy type situation. A guy who will be super over, but never really given the chance to run with the ball.

CM Punk could just be a case of not having the right friends. A lot of wrestlers are rumored at one point or another to be in the dog house, and they are often people who either haven't played politics or haven't made the "right" friends.
Carlito, who is currently rumored to be in the dog house, said as much. As have others in the past. The same was blamed for Shelton Benjamin's dog house rumored de-pushes in the past.
Have the right friends, and you can do no wrong. For example, the WWE changed its "Wellness Program" punishment policy when Randy Orton failed a test.
On the other hand, if you stand out in any fashion (good or bad) and don't have the right friends, and you can end up in the doghouse. (Standing out in a good way can rub the wrong person the wrong way, and such things have led to many de-pushes in the past.) Complain about it and you cement that status.

The problem with Carlito, supposedly, is that he thinks he's a bigger star than he really is and he's permanently sulking about his position on the card.

And of course Carlito decided to complain to a newspaper about how unfair it was he's not at Wrestlemania, and how he hates being a face. Silly boy.
