makes me glad i dont really watch anything but cartoon network nowadays...
Actually in the states we do have some interactive call-in game shows, but they're mostly on small time specialty cable channels like Game Show Network that intermix them with traditional game shows. Also our shows tend to be on the easy side, but the prizes aren't that high.
And for some reason I remember shows where it was basically an arcade type game where what number you pressed on your phone keypad determined how your character moved on screen.
Watching the first video, not even the snazzy dance groove playing could help me get over how fucking retarded those answers were.
Highlight of Quiz Call has to be either the labels that won't come off the quiz board or the presenters' stumbling over any slightly unusual words.
Is it me, or is there no difference between the pics in the final clip? Maybe it's just the quality, but it honestly seems as though they're exactly the same picture.
I think, in fairness, it's likely to be something small enough that it's been lost in translation to YouTube. They always have to reveal an answer at the end of these things, so there would have to be SOMETHING for them to point to. But no, I can't see what it is either.
I gather the answer in the second video is... 4? Is that what she's saying?
I'll be honest, I'd have went for 2 as well. I can only assume my grasp of arithmetic isn't what it once was.
In fact, I'm still convinced the answer is 2. You can't trust these people after all.
You have to do the multiplications before the additions.
The bored presenters is really something to behold. I thought it was impressive when QVC presenters did desperate things to fill for time, but that's nothing compared to when these quiz presenters just stare into the camera from four inches away and the like.
Australia has a couple of those shows. They started here about a year ago. They're both one of the guess the rest of the word types, eg. sun______. I only watched it once and was really annoyed by how they never bothered saying what words had already been said so people kept guessing the same ones. But it was entertaining how the pretty blonde host was drunk, very very drunk.
