I love the lighter yarn as well. I'm at the end of sock one, and had to switch to a size 3mm needle for the cable pattern. I will definitely make these again in a lighter yarn. Thanks for the idea. My DH likes the camouflage socks, though, so think about a present. The scarf I saw in the Monsoon was awesome.

An excellent idea and an awsome pair of socks. The cables are so much clearer in the lighter color.

If I had not made the committment to "knit as writ with yarn supplied" I would be extremely tempted to mess around with this pattern.

i think these look great. and i agree. the monsoon colorway is much too dark for this pattern. but in this pale almost solid looking color, the cables pop. i may make these socks after all.

ok, my post got lost! I love the lighter color! Really pops!! I think monsoon looks awful in the pattern they sent so i will try yours! Also, i couldn't wear the jaywalkers and these sound similar! So, thanks for the picture and ideas!
