After reading the comments about the 17-year-old not being treated "like a rock star" and just another recruit at Illinois I am relieved he will be recording his solo record elsewhere.
Go Illini!

After reading that I'm gald he didn't come here. He knows that Weber would not let him run around and be the human highlight reel so he went to Memphis where they don't care what you do. He also knew that Weber would try to convince him to stay at Illinois when he wants to leave for the NBA. Memphis can have him and at least he's not in our conference.

I wish Bruce did lie to the top recruits. You can't tell these potential NBA stars that they will recieve a wonderful education because that is definetly not what appeals to them. They want to hear that they will start as a freshman and the playbook will be built around them and Weber isn't that kind of coach.

DIPS from the previous blog...you said IL has four (4) national championship in football? where in the world did that misinformation come from...will you please tell us which 4 years did IL win those 4 national championships? Or aren't you counting IL's Big Ten championships and the corresponding trips to Rose Bowl as national championship, which, of course, they are not. The afct of the matter remains...our beloved university doen't have a single national champioship in football or basketball...sad as it may be.

1914, 1919, 1923 & 1927
It sure would be nice to win a modern NC but these count too.

Thanks for the information...I had no idea that IL had won NC in football and it's good to know that IL has actually won NC in football...no matter when or how long ago. Thanks again.

Yeah I feel like there should be a "Cub's rule."
If it is over a 100 years ago it don't count anymore.
this came off another page on the IL website:
"National Championships: 1914 (tied with Army), 1919 (tied with Harvard and Notre Dame), 1923, 1927. Authority, Parke H. Davis in Spalding's Guides."
