And this is why I drove from Los Angeles to Portland (WritersUA) to Seattle to Vancouver... Scenery was much better, stress was WAY less! And no security checks to worry about - just earthquakes , tsunami warnings, and torrential rain. Oh, and no DVT either!
I cannot resist adding that upon return to my room after dinner I decided that I would like a cold drink. No soda/water machines on my floor--so I went to the lobby. They gave a cold water bottle. Very nice of them. I returned to the elevator. My room key would no longer activate the elevator--required for all floors. So, after riding up to the top of the building with two other passengers, I returned to the lobby where they gave me a new key. This worked perfectly in the elevator, but it wouldn't open my door! I returned to the lobby. They gave me a new key, and a manager to put me back in my room. This worked.
