Interesting. I was at X-Pubs last year (clashed with my wife's birthday this year!).

I too was struck by the gender imbalance, given that at my previous employ I was the only guy in a team of 7 technical writers.

And I'm still not sure why blogging hasn't really caught on over here either. There are some UK technical writers who blog but they are few and far between. Strange that.
