Lucullian delights

Gravatar 7 o'clock in the morning and I am drooling over pictures of a vegetable! So glad I found your blog, love everything about it. Now all I have to do is figure out which recipe to try first! Regards to my beloved Tuscany...

Gravatar Dana-This is the way to start a new day: you drooling over vegetables and me reading such nice words...

Gravatar Hmmm... I think I'd like to try this. It sounds and looks very simple to make.

Gravatar Paz-you are great! When you have been here I find new comments all over the place, it so FUN!!

Gravatar I didn't get to comment on this right away, but it's such a touching story to go with your artichokes...I'm sure your mother in law would be so happy to know that she's passed on an appreciation for both life and such a delicious food!

Gravatar Michelle-It's my mother I'm writing about, my mother-in-law is fortunately very alive and kicking, a very active woman who has passed on a lot of gastronomical knowledge about Italian cooking! And she is nice too! Although it's my mother who understandably made the greatest imprint on me, she really liked food a lot and she taught me to cook at a very early age!

Gravatar Thanks, Ilva for the very nice compliment. Your posts inspire me to leave comments (not too many annoying ones, I hope.). I forgot to mention that I liked reading how your mom has influenced you with cooking and celebrations. It's good to know that she can still enjoy music even if she can't enjoy other things.

Best,
Paz

Gravatar Paz-keep on commenting! Yes she was/is a great woman I must say. But that's the way the cookie crumbles as Bogart would have put it...life is unpredictable!

Gravatar Dear Ilva,
I have the chance of going through your archives today and I want to tell you that your blog is so inspiring. Thanks for sharing such nice photos. I have always wanted to live in such a place and
I have always wanted to learn more about Italian way of cooking -it has some similarities with Turkish cuisine, since both countries have the Mediterenean culture.
As for the artichokes, these are widely consumed in the Eagean side of Turkey. My mother in law makes a delicious stuffed artichokes. This recipe looks also yummy. It seems that I'll try many of your recipes.

Gravatar Isil-Thanks a lot! And I can tell you that I plan to try out yours as I am so curious about Turkish cuisine!
