Lucullian delights

Gravatar Not a comment about this blog, but just a general comment.

I have just discovered your blog and bookmarked it. I like your style of writing, your choice of food to cook, your words about life in the region you live, and *especially*, the amazing photographs.

Thank you.

Gravatar This sounds so interesting Ilva. Does it taste like licorice? I have not eaten fennel, but I have been thinking that I need to give it a try. I like a light licorice flavor, but if it is too strong, it's not for me. How would you describe the flavor? Dawn

Gravatar Denzylle-Thank YOU, I am just amazed by all the nice things you write, I don't know what to say...
Dawn-it tastes a little bit like licorice but not too much, it has a quite mild flavour so you are safe-go for it!

Gravatar Stunning photo. (Wait. Do I say that every time I stop by your blog? Probably.)
The soup sounds fascinating. Imagine, ground almonds in soup. Must try.

Gravatar Ummm... what are "blanched" almonds?

I like fennel bulb which I recently discovered a few months ago. I'd like to try this soup with the almond mixture. Another recipe for me to add to my list. Thanks!

Paz

Gravatar cookiecrumb-keep on saying it, I can't get enough
Paz-I hope it means almonds that you throw into boiling water for a minute in order to be able to peel them easily!

Gravatar Hmmm... thanks,Ilva!

Paz

Gravatar Ilva, this soup is soooo good! I'll definitely make it again and again! Thanks a lot for this and all your other very inspiring recipes!
I wasn't sure if my blender would grind the fennel seeds, so I tweaked the recipe a tiny bit: While the soup was cooking I added a fennel-teabag. This could be discarded before serving. Everything worked fine and there was a deliciously subtle fennel flavor.

Gravatar bix-Thank you ever so much for telling me!
