Very fun, Ilva! I'll try to think of five I tackled a lot more since I started the blog - both soufflés and puff pastry comes to mind!!

Great idea for the new year, Ilva! Thanks for including me. I'll definitely participate.
On your list of five: I've roasted a duck, and even a goose. Very greasy and spattery (but this can't be so for everybody!). And I'm not bad at souffles. I have never made choux pastry. I'm planning a scallops dish soon. And I'm waiting to hear how your arancini turn out.

this is great! And I love the photo montage you made. I'm up for the challenge. I have another meme to complete (it feels like homework for this teacher!), so I'll just put them together into one giant meme!

Great idea!
For what it's worth, my favorite duck recipe is the "Slow-roasted Duck with Sage, Ginger and Rhubarb Homemade Sauce" in Jamie Oliver's Happy Days with the Naked Chef. If you like rhubarb anywhere near as much as I do, it will knock your socks off.

Thanks for picking me. I will do it after I give it some thought. One thing comes to mind already that I have always wanted to try making: tiropita. I had them in Athens and they were heavenly. And filo pastry is not even that high in carbs, since it's so thin. But I am very intimidated by it. I will get thinking about what the other four might be.

but i allready made one of the things i wanted to make. It's all about being more adventurous.
Duck is the thing on your list that scares me the most.
I love Arancini and am looking forward to seeing your recipe.

Hi, Ilva. I came here from Cookiecrumb's blog. I'd like to take your challenge, too. Oddly enough, two of your choices have been nagging at me to try them, too - souffle and choux paste. What a great idea!

Anne-maybe you can find some obscure Swedish recipes that need to be glorified!!
CC- I'm looking forward to see where your weak spots lie, if you have any that is...
Shauna-Yes, even teachers need some homework so they know what they are inflicting on their students in case they have forgotten what it is like! I'm looking forward to your post!
Indira-I'm happy your on! I'm very curious about your "promises"...
Jamie-I hope you're going to do it as well! And thanks for the tip!
Kalyn-I'm sorry to say but I'm happy that you are intimidated by tiropita! I'm looking forward to THAT!!
Sam-So now you have to write it down for my sake! By the way,I love your ricotta recipe, I made some years ago and had forgotten all about it but now, thanks to you, I'll start maikng it again!
B'gina-Great! Do it! And I'm so happy I'm not alone with my hang ups!

Excellent post. I love the idea you will challenge yourself. Excellent.
I made arancini a few times last year and was amazed they didnt fall to pieces. They actually came out quite beautifully. I suspect you will have the same results.
Cheers!
