That looks lovely although I won't be able to try until we get summer down here in the southern hemisphere again, about December, January we start getting snake beans in the shops. I often stir fry them with garlic, chilli, ginger and seasame oil, it smells great.

I've never seen these either, Ilva.. I love learning about new veggies. My next trip to the farmer's market I'll ask around and see if we ever get these in this part of the world. Ohh.. maybe I'll just search the net for seeds and plant some! I have a mission! Your recipe sounds divine, I'd be curious to know if you make them again without oregano if they still have the minty taste?

I haven't seen these, although some people here grow what they call long beans, but they look a little different. Your recipe sounds great as usual. I have a friend Mary whose parents came to the U.S. from Greece. Her father especially is a wonderful cook and he makes something that they call Fasolakia (maybe spelled wrong) that is very similar to this, only maybe a bit more garlicy. Hope your life is calming down a little.

dancingmorganmouse-I will have to try your version as well!!
Tanna-If you find them, do try them! And thanks!
Lisa-Thanks and yes I will try them again without the oregano and then I will tell you!
Kalyn-It's probably the same beans, mediterranean cooking have strong resemblances, they change slightly from place to place along the coasts.
Paz-You better keep your eyes open even after you have bought them, remeber that they are SNAKE beans after all
Cate-but you still haven't answered my querie, DO you ever sleep???
Connie-I love your interpretation and when I took a look at the pica now I think it's spot on! Brava!!

Ilva, this looks wonderful - as always. You could actually use those snake beans as a bouquet. In Sydney a lot of florist use chillis instead of flowers, why not use snake beans!
