Lucullian delights

Gravatar Your photos are always so inviting as they are this time. And your words take me over the edge. I'm not really a sweetie or truffle type but both of these seem to have my name on them. My dad would love the pistachio!!!

Gravatar absolutely beautiful post!

Gravatar Looks like I might be making truffles as Christmas gifts for those friends who like chocolate. My rosmary plant is madly flowering now, so I might even try your Rosemary Truffle recipe.

Gravatar What a coincidence! We have just melted the ganache and are waiting for it to set so that we can make truffles. What better way to console a little girl in sickness. And her mother.... And now we have these flavours of yours to consider... Thanks for the ideas!

Gravatar How delightful!

Paz

Gravatar Mmmmmmmmm. Many years ago I worked with a partry chef that made the most marvelous truffles, they where divine.
He was one of the most talented persons I have ever worked with. I once sat for four hours during a break and watched him create a whole fruit display out of hand blown sugar (like you would blow glass). There where pears and apples, bunches of grapes, all created from spun sugar, incredible to watch. My regret is that I never took a photo.

Gravatar Outstanding, Ilva! I love both the flavors. Oh how I wish I had some right now! :D

Gravatar Greetings from Roskilde, DK! I am very flattered and pleased that I managed to inspire one of your beautiful truffles! Tack!!!

Gravatar What a lovely post! As always - delectable photography, Ilva. And the recipes sound divine. As for nutmeg - I love it freshly grated. It's indispensable with ricotta dishes, creamy and cheesey sauces. It cuts the "cheesiness". It's one of my favorite secret ingredients. Oh, and I almost forgot! It's fab with spinach and garlic.

Gravatar The balsamic vinegar combination has really appealed to me here. I cannot really imagine it but I think I would be willing to try it out. Got one left over for me?

Gravatar Your so bad it is good. Ths balsamic vinegar sounds very tasty.

Gravatar Tanna-I'm flattered that I'm at least able to entice you a bit!

Aagje-thanks, I'm happy you like it!

Pene-I think I will as well actually, I hadn't considered the idea-thanks!

eszter-WHEN'S THE FOOD BLOG COMING??

Paz-make some!

Roo- wow that sounds incredible!

Lisa-I could have guessed that!

Pille-my pleasure!

Karina-thanks! I will start using it more, I usually just ignore it if it's indicated in a recipe but now it's gonna be experimenting time over here!

Meeta-com ever, I have several left!

Derek-hmmmm, don't know how to interpret that...

Gravatar How

Gravatar How could I start a food blog when I can't even manage with truffles? They were all over us and the kitchen and ended up in an otherwise delicious girella. On a more serious note: we are working on it! Me on the content, my son on the technicalities.

Gravatar I'm looking forward to that!

Gravatar Absolutely amazing truffles - that picture of the balsamic vinegar truffle covered in chopped pistachio nuts is absolutely amazing!

Gravatar photography apart, which is just always stunning on your blog, these truffles sounds amazing! especially for someone as nutmeg crazy as I am!!! will have to try this very soon!

Gravatar I mean that that truffles are so so good, I have to try and stay away from them at work, but if you worked at my bakery I would gain 2Kg in a week. Especially if you made lunch beforehand.

Gravatar ellie-Thanks! You are so nice!

Johanna-great, you like the nutmeg one! And thanks for the compliments. I'm looking forward to the roundup!

Derek-aha! Thanks, it's a wonderful compliment!

Gravatar Ilva, how sweet of you to create a truffle for Pille. All i can say is... where's mine?!

The balsamic vinegar you've used looks like a great one! They sell them here and depending on the age, they can be really pricey with the price starting from £35-£40. I haven't tried them but i was told at the shop they're the mutz nutz.

Talking about nuts, i love pistachio!

Gravatar mae-one day maybe... and yes really good balsamic vinegar costs a lot! but then it is good!

Gravatar WOW - these both sound phenomenal - and lucky Pille to have a truffle named after her I am intrigued by the balsamic vinegar truffle idea (although I suspect I'd need to invest in something of a slightly higher quality than what I usually have sloshing around - maybe the £91 bottle of tradizionale I saw at Harvey Nichols last week LOL!) I am also a huge fan of pistachios, so these truffles sound like my idea of heaven. Thanks for the inspiration!

Gravatar Jeanne-91 £?? That must be a hell of a balsamic vinegar! Thanks!

Gravatar what fabulous photos you take ilva. i have never tried balsamic truffles. however after reading your post on it, i might just make my next batch of truffles balsamic ones!

Gravatar ilingc-Thank you, if the balsamic vinegar is good, they are good!

Gravatar Hi Ilva,

I saw your entry for DMBLGIT over at Abstract Gourmet and just had to stop by and tell you how much I love that truffle photo! The use of violet in the background is brilliant! I love it!

Gravatar Nicole-Thanks! And now I have discovered your wonderful blog!
