Thanks, Ilva - first for coming up with the idea - and then for all the work to present it to us! It is going to be fun to visit the kitchens from where come some of our new favourite flavours!
What more can a foodie ask for! I now have about 40 kitchens to visit (have already visited a few)!!!
Thanks so much for the lovely write up. I know this blossomed into something a little bigger than you might have imagined at the start.
Now you can always laugh at thinking you thought a kitchen would be boring to this blogging community!

Wow, this is fantastic, Ilva, thank you for your work, your generous comments in every paragraph! I will have a field day over the weekend looking at the variety of kitchens, the lovely colors of objects and pottery, the warmth of the wood, the signs of activity, etc. This was truly worth it.

Yikes---I am always a step behind on roundups, this one is so cool! Nice domains everyone!
My kitchen started with confetti wallpaper, vinyl gray mottled flooring, a half-inserted dishwasher and a piece of particle board for a counter. We tore out all the walls and I even tiled the floor myself! We built a little nook and I painted the walls light avocado/celery. My only complaint? Not enough counter! But I love it just the same!

Whao! so many entries! I like this project as it draws us together even closer. Sometimes it's quite funny when we only interact via words even we have known each other for a while... seeing our kitchen can project some of our background and personality. Great job Ilva :D

Well it took me 3 days to get through everyone's kitchen, but I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them! From small to large it was just so nice to see where all the "magic" is created. =)

I found a cute Ikea commercial that I hadn't seen before on Youtube about someone's idea of a dream kitchen. I added to my post if anyone wants to see it.
I'm not fully through this roundup, but am enjoying this greatly. I don't think I've ever spent so much time blogging as I did now. I especially like that Ilva brought 50 and more cooks closer together, all going through the same motions day by day, with glee and passion.

Wowee - I didn't even know this was on till I saw the roundup! But then again, I'm so deeply unimpressed with my cramped, rented kitchen that I would probably have chosen not to share it anyway
