Divine!
I'm just writing a post about how a dish or recipe can just come together. Knowing this is how you so often do things, I'm using you as an example and come to pick up a link...and you're doing it again!
This looks so good and fun.
I would doubt your father considered that parent abuse...that is a wonderful memory. Now do you write the rhyme?

Just fantastic. Your mother was an artist! Now that explains some of your talent for arranging the photographs and seeing the art is your surroundings. I'm not surprised to hear it.

Ilva, I have been in love with asparagus for quite a while now, but don't cook with it as often as I'd like to.
These are delicious! I love eggs and what a beautiful dish to present to the family!

Wow, I really like the idea as I'd like to crave into everything that has pesto in it (And I seem to have tried all kinds of weird dishes because of it) Girl, you've made my day.

I cannot find asparagus here yet, but I'm definitely going to use the pesto-in-egg-filling tip!!
PS We don't have egg hunt in Estonia, but I still remember fondly the large paper egg with chocolates inside sent to me by friends in Sollentuna

Oh, thanks to all of you! What a response, it must be the eggs, or the pesto or maybe the asparagus? No it must be the romantic photos no it's just because you are such a nice lot of blog readers! Yes, that's it! Thanks!

I loved reading your Easter memories, Ilva. How fun that must have been! Are you carrying on the tradition with your children? Bettina (my good friend who is from Germany) was just last night telling me about her Easter traditions. It is so much fun hearing of how people from other cultures have celebrated the holiday. Thanks for sharing!

Lovely memoir. And what a great way to egghunt! I like your pesto eggs a lot, the green color is very much related to spring.

I'm not a huge fan of stuffed eggs, but yours look amazing. The photographs are part of the appeal because they are so beautiful.

Thomas-Thanks, you are really nice! You too!
sally-yes some of them I do with my children but we have mixed both Italian and Swedish Easter traditions a bit!
elle-Thanks! I tried to make them romantic despite me not being the romantic type!

What a wonderful post, you brought back lots of memories. Not only of childhood Easters and egg hunts, but also of gloomy album covers, stereo turned up way too loud and really bad poetry. :D
Recipe sounds delish. Think I will force my flatmates to have a traditional Sweedish Easter egg hunt this year. Fab.

Wow, is it really 2 to 3 spears of asparagus per egg? That seems like a crazy-lot.
I would like to make these this weekend, but wanted to know if I really needed to buy that much -- especially if local asparagus isn't on the market yet ($$$).
Thanks in advance.

Neil-It really depends how big and/or thick the asparagus spears are, our early ones here are pretty thin! And remember that you are free to adapt the recipe as you want, make it 2-2,5/each egg, and it is egg not egg-halves in case you misunderstood!
