That's funny - I'm also supposed to clean up due to my family's imminent arrival, but instead I find myself making pumpkin marmalade....
I really love the simplicity of your recipes - and yet they always seem to have a twist I would never have thought of myself (the rosemary, in this case).

Ilva, that first image of the plums on those dark plates, simply gorgeous!
Would you divulge what kind of a lens you use?

Mmmm...that looks absolutely jewel-like and gorgeous! Makes me miss the plum trees we had back in Oregon. If I still had them, I'd definitely be making that! Have a great time with your sister-in-law and niece!

Have a great time with your family. I am like you .I am at own most of the time on my own, but let things slip...working and blogging..and not that much interest in housework..once I know someone is coming, I go into overdrive

I used to find it utterly atrocious that Nonna would stuff rosemary into whatever she could find - and jam and wine were two such examples.
I never imagined that it would work as well as it does. Let me just say that I'll definitely try this one out when the season is just right down here.

In my house always has the dust but because lunch is always ready.
I made mermelade plum in the same way.
My older son like it very much, but nobody else is eating.
pictures are beautiful

Hannesofi-isn't that typical? But yesterday and today I am so good and I am cleaning like never before. And throwing away lot and lots!
Merisi-I used a Nikkor 16-85 mm for that photo. And thanks!
Anne-ha ha, aren't we all a bit like that?
Matt-the wisdom of old Italian women when it comes to cooking is immense!
Stve2- pure poetry
svetlana-Thanks, so good to hear! And to share the same recipe!
labelga-thanks!

If you keep a basket with a handle at the bottom of your stairs, you'll find it easier to collect items that need to go up, and just tote them upstairs with you.

Yum. I just got given a large bag of plums yesterday. Now I know what to do with them! The top photo is excellent. Very subtle.

How you make me laugh! I thought I was the only one who:
a) keeps stuff on the stairs that is meant to move up or down, as an interim measure. Somehow they seldom go up OR down bt just clog up the stairs till my husband trips over them and swears a lot!
b) needs the occasional houseguest as a catalyst to tidy up!
LOL!
Love the plum jam with rosemary - inspired.

Steve2 was trying to tell you that you typed "water" instead of "rosemary".
Ilva, I sometimes forget to bring downstairs what I went upstairs to get.
