Lucullian delights

Gravatar It's so hot here this weekend... and your soup looks so very, very refreshing!

Gravatar That looks really delicious, but what really catches my eye is the magnificence of the photos. Really lovely. I like the way that you've captured the bits of oil on the surface of the soup.

Gravatar A delicious looking soup! Perfect when it's very hot!

Cheers,

Rosa

Gravatar I love the new photo of yourself, Ilva.

Gravatar I have a favorite tomato soup recipe. My girls love it, but always after eating it they ask; Mom, can we have Toro readymade soup next time......

So much for slow food cooking.

Gravatar What a fabulous looking soup. I will put this on the "to make" list. I love tomatoes and melanzane also and your phots do it justice as well as your new photo, although you could just move that camera over a little bit so we can see a bit more of you.

Gravatar Wow, the soup looks awesome. I like the drops of olive oil creating that lovely sheen on top of the soup.

Gravatar This soup looks fresh and amazing! I love it! Perfect for all the summer tomatoes I have in my backyard!

Gravatar Looks so good. Nothing like cold tomato soup in hot weather like this.

Gravatar How do you get tomatoes that shape?

Gravatar Beautiful, Ilva, also your new profile picture. I'm going to follow suit with your soup.

Gravatar Thank you all! And particular thank you to those of you who appreciated the oily look that I was afraid would disgust you!

Di-It's the variety of the tomatoes that looks like that, San Marzano. They are especially good for tomato sauces!

Gravatar LOL - you and my husband have a lot in common! He also adores Bloody Marys - but as someone who spent about the first 30 years of her life studiously avoiding tomatoes, it's still not my drink of choice... I have started seeing the value in chilled tomato soups though, and beautiful fresh tomatoes like the ones pictures - lovely!
