Lucullian delights

Gravatar I was always amused when the English were praising their strawberries as the best in the world, as I thought Estonian ones tasted superior (and I still do, at least the fully ripened ones I pick straight from the plant; not even talking about the wild ones!). It's funny, the culinary nationalism - but I see no harm in such pride
I'll be making your honey-basil-strawberries tomorrow (using pretty good Spanish berries, as they're the only ones available here just now)

Gravatar Oh Ilva, that first picture has me in raptures!

I've always thought that fresh strawberries cherries are the world's most affordable luxuries Love the honey-basil combo - and it makes a change from the fashionable balsamic vinegar & black pepper

Gravatar I LOVE strawberries and would never think to eat them with a basil/honey mixture, but I will try anything once! And it's simple which I think I could handle.

Gravatar I love strawberries, too. This recipe sounds like a winner to me.

Paz

Gravatar I would try making this, but the worms ate all my basils leaves in my planter :/ This is why farmers can't be expected to do without pesticides :s

Gravatar Delicious! That would be a great treat for breakfast!

Gravatar Pille- Well we could discuss national pride and what it really is and its effects for ages but I think that it's OK as long as you are able to see that there are possiblities of food being better somewhere else. and that goes for ALL national pride! And then, maybe Estonian strawberries really ARE the best!!

Jeanne-Thanks!

Lisa-now I am a basil lover so I love this combination, I hope you will like it if ou ever try it!

Paz-Thanks! Big hug!

Murasaki-that was sad to hear, damned worms!

Ginny-yes, then maybe even I would eat breakfast!

Gravatar I must try this Ilva! Sounds delicious.... and we have almost the same egg cups

Have a wonderful day, Margot

Gravatar Very clever styling Ilva

Gravatar absolutely gorgeous photo!

Gravatar Perhaps this is one time we don't think "the grass is always greener on the other side"!

Gravatar Margot-Thanks!

Di-oh you can't imagine how flattered I feel, it coming from you!

Aran-thanks a lot!

Tanna-yes maybe!
