I love fruit with chile -- the whole sweet/hot thing that happens in your mouth is amazing. I know some people prefer their fruit salad very sweet, but I love the balance. Beautiful photos, as always, too.

I don't know why chile and lime on fruit has not caught on with the rest of the world, so I am glad to see you writing about it. All of Latin America can't be wrong...right?

I sure wish chili peppers would catch on in Spain because I haven't seen a single fresh chili pepper around here yet :/ Maybe I'm just in the wrong part of the country?

Lydia-yes, it does add an extra dimension! And thanks!
Kalyn-thanks!
Paz-Big hug!
Jeni-wwell maybe we're just taste imperialistic? Better change that!
Murasaki-well, you just have to grow some yourself on the window sill, if you can't find the seeds, just tell me and I will send you some!

I believe eating hot foods in hot climates has something to do with them casing you to sweat which in turn cools you down.

In my quest for all things holistic, I discovered that chilies and other hot spices have a "cooling" effect on the body. South East Asians and Indians know this- thats why they eat very hot food in their warm tropical climate. Very strange but true- one would think the reverse was true..
