Gravatar I read Edward's excellent piece and you raise some very important points yourself. For example the concerns over "419 scams" have generally focused on foreigners who have been gullable enough to fall into the traps. Little has been written about the impact on the majority of Nigerians who are honest business women and men. Honest Nigerians and the Government need to start fighting back not only against the scammers but also the negative media reports that further harm local businesses. Young people like Edward and Kazey who are trying to set up computer/internet related businesses are going to find it very difficult if everyone assumes because they are Nigerians they are dishonest.

Gravatar Sokari: You are correct- those you mentioned and even others with non-internet related businesses have suffered from the negative aura of the Nigerian 'Yahoo' boy-perpetrated online scams.

Gravatar It is so unfair to put all Nigeria people in the scammer group. It is even hard for mission workers to get help needed because of this. I am a smart woman but never been on internet web sites before to meet men for dating purposes. I did go on a well known one and it is unbelievable
how many romance scammers there are out there from Nigeria.Mostly Lagos and Ghana. they are smooth takers and say the right things. You do fall in love with these persons. It really hurts when the scams start. You are broken hearted. You know it isn't even the money they get. If they were truthful from the get go and say, I need money for this. It would be better and you know they might get it faster..Don't mess with a ladies heart. Revenge is sweet. All the way from America.. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Africa, but after someone messed with my heart, I will burn any scammer I can get my hands on and love evry minute of it..It is fun playing the game with them now.because you know what words are coming.ROMANCE SCAMMERS BEWARE, WE ARE WISE TO YOU NOW.
