Hi INABIR members:

I was recently consulting with a VAMC in PA with a Voc. Rehab unit doing job placement of Vets into a large nonprofit NISH food service contractor. My question is: Are VA Medical Centers eligible for PWI grants and if so are there any VAMC /PWI grantees??

There aren't any VA Medical Centers with PWI grants, but there is no reason that I know of that they couldn't apply.

I am having a HARD time finding appropriate at home work. It is hard to job develop and "weed" through all the "own your own business stuff.

Any ideas?

I have seen NTI, which is a PWI, but we need more leads to better at home jobs with out start up fees etc.

Aliza, what type of jobs are you looking for? There are a variety of positions available for people with good computer skills that can be found by googling. You will have to do some work of course to sort the scams from the real.

Is anyone counting temp to hire jobs as a placement if the job seeker stays with that company for some time? We are still in debate here.

Re: at home jobs, it's the weeding out that is frustrating. I just found a Quickbooks trainer that comes to clients homes trains them on their computer (using dragon) so they can become more marketable.
