Gravatar I notice that there are major major holes and the contrary of holes (perhaps "mampet"?) in Indonesian laws. Those things have been hindering Indonesia's competitiveness in many areas, including but not limited to foreign investments.

As a person who has enjoyed the so-called "rule of law" to the fullest extent in the United States, Indonesia is not yet a country of such measure, at least at de facto level.

Many laws are contradictory with each other, thus canceling each other.

I'm wondering if there is some sort of "clearinghouse" or law depository of which the main function would be to analyze and challenge such laws?

Thanks for enlightening this "karatan" lawyer's mind.

Jennie

Gravatar Haha, we have a lot of "mampet" (what would be the proper english expression?, "jamming"?) in almost every sector. From water to politics and the law.

The only proper channel to fix this "mampet" is the constitutional court (thru judicial review) and the legislative (legislative review).

CC is doin quite well in many things. The legislative is, well, as you know it
