Gravatar Ooh, Roomba Envy! I have a good friend that ADORES her Roomba. Although, now that I think about it, I don't mind vacuuming all that much. What I would really, really like would be a robot that MOPS!

Gravatar Hooray!

My mother named hers Rambo.

Gravatar How very cool!

Gravatar If I had an area a bit bigger than two postage stamps I'd be so tempted.

Would Dusty be a bad name - or am I just mean?

Gravatar I really want to know if you're still using it in 3 months

Gravatar Congrats on the new purchase!

I hate, hate, hate to vacuum--it's my least favorite cleaning chore--so I have a few questions: Does the Roomba do rugs as well as bare floors? In a room that had a rug on a wooden floor, would it be able to go up and down over the end of the rug without falling on its back like a turtle? Would it be possible to put it to work on an upper story without worrying about its pitching itself down the stairs? Is it noisy? Inquiring minds want to know!

Gravatar I'm with Prof. Dyke on the mop.

Gravatar I actually like vacuuming. Oddly soothing. But I could use a robot to not just mop (as suggested by Prof D), but SCRUB my kitchen and bathroom floors. That I would love.

Gravatar What Now: it is kind of noisy -- not more so than a regular vac, but you wouldn't want to try to listen to music or watch TV in the same room as Roomba. It can't handle fringe on throw rugs. If it's not fringed, well, Roomba would certainly be able to go from rug to floor with no problem. I think the reverse would depend on the height of the rug. It happily went over the doorjamb from our kitchen to the living room, but couldn't go back the other way. And, about the stairs -- it has a "cliff monitor" to prevent that. Plus some models come with a "virtual wall" so you can block off places you don't want it to go.

Gravatar you could call it Baba o'Roomba
