Gravatar You are a huge geek. You know that, right?

Gravatar Okay, I'm so jealous, but after we spent mucho bucks on a spiffy Dyson vacuum cleaner (which, I have to confess, is the greatest vacuum cleaner on earth, and about which I feel far more excited than any human should about a vacuum cleaner), I doubt a Roomba's in our future. Does it do carpet as well as bare floor?

Gravatar When I first read your opening sentences, I thought it said, "It just finished cooking dinner"!

Gravatar Ooh . . . it gets things cleaner than mopping, you said? So that one could hypothetically stop mopping (which implies that one consistently mops in the first place, which one doesn't)? You SO have my attention now! How do the dogs feel about the Roomba, btw? Any disruption to the pack dynamic?

Gravatar Dysons look really awesome, I'm impressed. Roomba supposedly does carpet, but we don't have any so I don't know for sure.
The dogs keep an eye on Roomba, but don't seem to be especially bothered by it. No more than the regular vac.
Re: mopping -- it's definitely better than mopping on the wood floors. And did a good job in the kitchen -- there are still smudges/stains that have to be wet mopped/Swiffed, but the crumbs etc are gone.
Roomba can't deal with water, though, so I have to pick up pet bowls etc first.

Gravatar Goddamnit, I want one now. If only it could do stairs, where the huge dustbunnies hide...
