How witty, insightful, and illuminating! Personally, I still won't see a movie with Damon or Affleck in it, because I'm not yet over that whole Chasing Amy thing. I could totally launch a trackback about fitness boot camps, but won't...

But Damon wasn't in Chasing Amy. And actually there are 20 seconds in Good Will Hunting that caused me to change my mind about Ben Affleck. So now I'm just sticking with being down on Kevin Smith.

Yeah he was, if only for a second, but it's guilt by association. Still totally down on Kevin Smith. Bleh.

Neat post - I'm glad you reconstructed it! I enjoyed both movies too, but this puts them in a new and much more interesting light.
It's interesting too in light of the fact that modern Americans are moving further and further to the other end of the spectrum of physical training - fewer and fewer people are able even to attempt the physical things that JB does.
(For what it's worth, I agree about Kevin Smith. As for Ben Affleck, didn't Dr. C - or was it profgrrrrl - post about him during the DNC, claiming that in fact he was not a complete idiot? Was doing political head-in-the-sand, so didn't catch it myself. Who'd've thunk he might have a brain...)
