But does your new coffee house have wireless? The Caffeine Dealer, aka the local coffee shop, got it recently and, aside from the recent laptop incident, I must say that I really like it. I haven't found that it is too much of a distraction, and it means I can do a lot of work there that I once needed to be on campus to accomplish. And that means I have to commute to campus less frequently, which means more time for me, the family, everything. Good all around.

There's a nice independent coffeehouse that's only a five-minute walk from our house, and I'd love to work there, but (1) all their drinks are coffee drinks; perfectly reasonable in a coffeehouse, I know, but I don't actually drink coffee! and (2) they roast their own coffee, which sounds cool, and my partner loves buying coffee beans there, but the smell of the roasting coffee gets into the fibers of one's clothes, which then start smelling kind of nasty later on in the day. Ah well. Congrats on the new love in your life!
One of the HUGE saving graces of BFE is that they have a charming coffee shop with fabulous, fabulous coffee drinks that are meticulously prepared (also tea, soy, and Italian sodas, plus vegetarian/organic lunch selections, and a pastry cabinet). And not only is it a coffee shop, but it's also an art gallery with a new show rotating in every month or so. I love grading papers/commenting on student work there in the afternoons, and sometimes I go there to write when I need a change of scenery. Plus they're going wireless! Having a good coffee shop to work/socialize in is crucial, as far as I'm concerned. I'm so glad that your needs have been met! 
I don't know if they're wireless -- I don't have a laptop right now, and my PDA isn't wireless-enabled. But I have plenty of work that doesn't require the internet (or, even a PC) to keep me busy. Besides, I can write on my PDA just fine.
Though of course if they do, that would be one more item added to my "reasons I'm wishing for a laptop even though I probably don't really NEED one"
