7:30 is SO the crack of dawn as far as I'm concerned, too! I completely feel your pain, and am also finding myself heading sraight first into the midst of a Slacker Scanning Episode as well. Perhaps a good wallow is in order?

O ye feeble-hearted souls - I regularly pull into the campus parking lot by 7:30!! (Okay, I don't enjoy it in the slightest, but the only benefit of doing it is getting to act all morally superior towards later sleepers... the downside is that by 9 pm I'm toast...today it's only 12:15 and already I'm toast...)
But seriously, I hate those blah gray days. Hopefully you have a break soon to recharge? Or at least there's the weekend!

I too am not a morning person, and I try never to teach before 10:00 a.m. I always have great plans about what I'll get done early in the morning before class, but I've also decided that sometimes sleeping in is absolutely the healthiest thing that I can do, and that if I just can't get myself vertical, I probably really need the extra rest. So maybe you were really just taking good care of yourself this morning!

I had the same day. I meant to get up at 8, and slept 'til 11. I fought with Mr. B. over stupid shit. I wandered in to campus around 2 and had to park a jillion miles from my office, then fucked around feeling cranky and got done only the things that were on deadline today, and blew off the conference paper I need to write for a conference next weekend, and then it was dark so I came home.
I think it's the fucking weather, too.

Oh. That is an early hour. And I totally know the kind of day you're talking about.
Be kind to yourself. You are allowed to have an "off" day every so often.

7:30 is mid-morning for me!
sometimes, just sometimes, i find that a quick 10 minute sequence of chest-opener/shoulder stand/fish pose takes care of that oogy feeling. listening to marvin gaye can also accomplish the same thing. hope you're having a better day today.

You will be giving your friends an update when you are non-pluh-y, yes?
