You know, it's so funny that you posted this because I really like/am inspired by what I think is the next line in that song (I may be paraphrasing a little):
Success is my only motherfucking option, failure's not.
My own little mantra, sometimes.

Mel, this post (and the video and New Kid's comment, too) put me in a very good mood this morning.

Isn't that video amazing!
I love Eminem, and I listen to him all the time, and I always find something that clicks with his lyrics.

re: your note to self - apparently we were both asking the same question around the same time last night. Did you figure out an answer?

How weird -- ADH was channel surfing this morning as I got ready (he's never up that early), and landed on the Eminem video. I actually teared up to see that kind of tangible reappropriation of all things good about the US by and for someone who can speak to a big chunk of the underrepresented people in this country.

Awesome. Made me feel kind of empowered, despite the fact that I live in the bluest of blue states and am a middle class white woman. I really hope this video makes a difference.

He IS smart and charismatic, and it pisses me off that he's homophobic because otherwise, I'd buy his damn records (because they're good).

Your commentary on Eminem is pretty funny! I don't much like the Mosh song, but I think the video is very interesting.
