The end of the year is a weird transitional time -- I always feel a little blue too. But it always passes. I know that in January, I will start feeling energized about the upcoming semester.

I think post-holiday is always weird, especially for academic types like us who have to get back to work but don't actually have to be at work yet. Good luck getting energized - I need to do that today as well, although I fear that all I will do is blog...
Loved seeing the dogs' stockings and hearing about their Christmas, by the way!

Yeah, I feel the same way. Not blue really, but definitely not energized. There's plenty to be done, but I'm not feeling up to it. I, too, get out those get organized books this time of year. I'm hoping that they'll inspire me, but I usually get frustrated with them pretty quickly.

I've been feeling these blues as well, actually I've been dreading the whole holiday season. Hard to know what to make of it, except that, like you, this year has not been an exceptionally bright one for me.
Well, let's hope for a better 2005!

For me, working out (specifically running) is the best defense I have against permanent onset of the blues. Also, tackling those lingering projects always helps me feel considerably less anxious and more hopeful. You are in my thoughts ...

Blue, blue, blue ...
what can you do, do, do?
I have that same nervous feeling, that wallowing could be dangerous. It'll pass in a few days, right? And 2005 will be a dynamite year Has to. Won't let it be anything but.

Yeah, I've been feeling kind of out of it as well. I kind of want to be back at work, accomplishing things, but my in-laws are here, so it's kind of still holiday-time. I'm about ready for all of this to be over, and I'm looking forward to the first half of January, when I'll be getting ready for the new term.
What are the "inspirational get-organized & get-focused books" that have helped you? Could you share your bibliography? (I'm always on the lookout for these kinds of books!)
