I'm not that great at keeping in touch with people. I do my best, but I've done inter-state moves 9 times in the past 10 years. So, that makes keeping in touch with nonlocal friends a pretty-much full-time job. I have about 4 or 5 close friends with whom I can always pick up right where we left off ...
Incidentally, my mom has gotten really into googling her old boyfriends to see what they're up to. Every week or so, I get an e-mail with details about the life and times of an ex. It's pretty hilarious to see my mother, who's in her 60s, enjoying the power of google. She hasn't e-mailed any of them, yet, though.
Oh, that's cool. I've had that happen to me a couple of times, always with good results. (My real name is unusual enough that I'm the only one of my kind on the internet so I'm easy to google.) Even we only end up e-mailing a few times each year, usually at the end of a semester for me, it's nice to keep in touch.
Pretty neat! It is always nice to hear that people from your past are thinking about you, especially if you've been thinking about them and the role they played in your life.
Reminding me that I need to write back to some of those people ... 2 came out of the woodwork recently, and I've been a lazy girl.
