I was ambivalent about "Heights," but generally liked it. I really like your comments about movie trailers being about "potential," but I have to admit that when I see films on VHS and thus forced to watch the trailers, there's an odd archival impulse, like having been frozen in time. On my VHS copy of Strange Days there are previews for films like Rush Hour, but also some crappy films that disappeared too quickly for anyone to see, and it's sort of like a time capsule of frozen potential, a lost past that was never realized or forgotten in some other way....
