And I, too, feel that we need to spend time educating our students about the university system. I have students who assume that you start as a professor as soon as you come out with a B.A./B.S. or the like!
I so love it when students come and talk to me about this stuff. For me, it's almost always gendered -- women come to see me and ask me about being a prof. Guys come to talk about grades and suck up. hmmm
sometimes i want to go a professor in my university and chat with him and ask him questions like how he became a professor and in what way did he study u know what i mean ? i'm not sure i'll get my Bsc and i would love to know how professors studied??!!did he have time to scratch his head?!but actually i don't talk about things like these bcoz i think he'll get me wrong and think i'm stalker or something,,sorry for my weak language but english is not my motherlanguage
