Gravatar ML, good post!
Pretty good information for the American investor.

p.s see my sites ( dedicated to gold and PM's)

Gravatar Good guide to buying PM bullion.

Look forward to your FA & TA analysis of PM stocks.

I've been eyeing a few gold stocks such as TGB, NXG and IAG based on TA analysis.

But I do not have sufficient Fundamental Analysis (FA) information to make the judgement call.

Based on PE alone, TGB looks under-valued. Same as NXG though it has had a near 100% price increase in the past few months.

Would you agree with real1's TA assessment of IAG?

Gravatar Hi, Real1,

Thanks. Yes, I've been reading your sites for a while and have enjoyed them.

I'll put up a link to you next week.

ML

Gravatar BlueDaze,

I was actually eyeing NXG for a while before the article by Jason Hummel. Oh, well, I'm disinclined to chase as the risks are too great here. Oppotunities come and go, the same cannot be said for hard earned money.

I haven't been following the fundamental picture in NXG that closely. As I recall the key for them is for the second mine to be approved. BC is not as mining frendly as some other provinces but I hope people will come to their senses.

I know that by waiting for the HUI to show improvement in the overall gold sector I'm missing out on the movements in juniors, but I remain a fence sitter.

Gravatar ML,

Tks for sharing your views on NXG.

Will esp bear this advise of yours deep in my mind: "Opportunities come and go, the same cannot be said for hard earned money."

Gravatar I liked this post a lot. Do you have any other smaller precious metals dealers you would recommend? I'm currently trying out Colorado Gold. Thanks.

Gravatar Novice,

I listed all the ones that I know or those I have heard others mention. Don Stott at Colorado Gold strikes me as one who gets the big picture on gold. Is there something in particular you're looking for?

Gravatar I am just very new to precious metals, and made my first purchase ever with Don. Though his was the lowest premium over spot that I could find, I was still over 17% over spot for silver eagles. I was hoping to find a reputable place that had an even better price. Thank you.

Gravatar First of all, the fabrication cost is high compared with the value of the metal: I view this as an indication of the cheapness of silver.

The premium on Silver Eagles has always been high. Part of that is set by the US mint and I don't think you can find a better deal from dealers, especially those who gets the current mintage from the mint. You may have better luck buying from individuals (eBay?).

The good thing is that when you sell, you will get back part of that premium also. If you're concerned with getting the most metal for your money then rounds, bars or junk silver should be considered.

Gravatar I've bought the Australian Lunar series in the hopes that i"ll pay bullion prices but might be able to sell at collectors prices.

I've also bought Napoleon I coins for a tad over spot (although the margins have increased in the past 6 months). No one's making any more of those!

Gravatar Investing In Gold 2008 Learn About the Five Reasons You Should Own Gold in 2008 I did click here and get free information and pricing like I did a few months ago when it was lower. They give free information so click this link and fill out your name and get a free catalog of all type of gold and silver coins catalog.

Gravatar A shame you gave up on this blog. You have a lot of good information here, and obviously a lot of knowledge on the subject. As the author of How to Invest in Gold and Silver, I'm 100% behind you on your theories (although this book is intended for beginners, like I was a few years ago). All this Fiat money credit that is being issued right now is leading us down a path of severe disruption ahead, to say the least.

I hope you are still hanging on in there with your gold and silver, though, and well done for sharing it with everyone.
