It seems you are using this opportunity for sublime propaganda yourself – or are you simply misguided?
IT IS CLEAR THAT THE US DOES NOT PLAN TO ATTACK IRAN thanks to the huge efforts of those outside opposition and self-less efforts to make crystal clear to the Bush camp that what is needed is “moral support for the Iranian people” and not war.
The message has gotten through. The evidence is clear.
In his speech yesterday, President Bush sent a clear message to the Iranian people: “if you stand for freedom, America stands with you.”
What forces have pushed for America to take this stand? Take a look at the past 20+ interviews, articles and statements at http://www.rezapaglavi.org and see for yourself.
(Lets please not even attempt to compare real opposition with that of the self-centric satellite TV showmen that have crawled out of the woodwork of late to make a name for them and earn a buck or two.)

I would also like to give my perspective on what the author of the original web log in order to shed some light for him and provide some balance and other readers.
Any 24 year old who’s only understanding of the Iran that in the days that we where allies of the US and the Iran that can be once again, must be getting his perspective from his the twisted propaganda of the current regime and probably the views of his parents and their generation.
In today’s Iran only the present “middle classes” can send their 24 year son to Canada to study, and in today’s what constitutes “middle class” is no longer education and etiquette but how much cash you can trade. Since our currency has no official value in any international bank anywhere in the world, only “bazzar” type trades people and black market traders have profited from this murderous regime. So in essence, the “intellectuals” of today have about as much global perspective as the “fruit and veg man” in London’s street markets.

25+ years on and Iran is only now just beginning to re-action programmes that where originally designed 30 to 35 years ago. And just because a few elite minority of Iranians can now go skiing with their girlfriends and listen to “the Iranian 50Cent” hip hop track, that does not make today’s Iran free, the regime civilised or worthy of support. They are merely lessening the reigns because they are afraid.
Why do you think the latest group of women sentenced to “dead by stoning” have not been stoned yet? Simply because of what has happened in Iraq.

ِِDear Amir,
I am not saying that there shouldn't be any pressure on Iran or any other country including U.S. to fulfill human right responsibilities (like preventing stoning) or other similar things. I just say, that War is an nasty bloody last bullet that should be avoided any where any time possible.
Another point, you are absolutly wrong about how a youngster can get outside of Iran to study. Nowadays, many Iranian universities have very good reputatin in U.S. and Canada that enables students of them to obtain graduate funded positions in best universities in U.S. or Canada or Britain. So basically you don't need to have a rich "Bazzari" parent to get out! Secondly, "Bazzari" parents are not the typical family type who send their children abraod. I guess in case of parent funded immigration the high class, more western type families usually tend to do that.
And "Bazzari" families have enough resources and secuirity for their children inside Iran. They c

Dear friend you are wrong! America attacked Iraq becuase its intellegence agencies told Bush that Iraq had no weapons to defend. Same agencies and N Korea itself has told America that they have WMDs so America stays away from N Korea and talks peace!! Iran should learn from this and I believe Iranians are well prepared.

Ok Bush is evil, he is a mad man. But can he help my fellow country men to be free. If so I will welcome it, no war of course. I don't see myself as a lefti european or a hating arab because of palestina, to just moan and maon, frankly I do not care about palestina, they mean nothing to me, let egypt, Jordan and other arab helpless countries worry. I see myself as an Persian with a troubled country. Maybe bush can help pushing the rest of us. It comes to the point where he says 48 hours left before attack and we all get out and get rid of mullahs. Then we are all free and no one can attack us. Just maybe!

Dear Peyman
Thank you very much for such honest opinion about our homeland .
Unfortunately some Iranians out side Iran are so much lost their dignity national identity so much power hungrey and blood thirsty that they are ready to sell their mother land to ruthless powers . It is duty of all Iranians to expose them inside and out side Iran . Iranian women must be told that west can not bring democrasy to Iran ,their aim is to divide Iran ,to destroy Iran ,and loot our oil any iranian who thinks other wise is as intelegent as west,s intelegent servises which have no intelegence . God bless you happy new year
