I'll tell you when There will be a Muslim Malcom X

When Afghan Shia changes his name to Afghan MUSLIM and when he stops cursing Sunni's as part of his daily prayers as required by his cult.

Afghan Shia, The prophet was not a "shia" and did not belong to any sect. I challenge you to drop the "shia" as part of your name and use the word "Muslim".

Gravatar "The Arab regimes want America to believe that there are only two choices: Islamists and the regimes, so it will side with the regimes."

Wasn't it GEORGE BUSH and the deluded NEOCONS that said "you're either with us or against us"?

Funny, I seem to remember him saying that. America has chosen the hard road on this.

Gravatar [bazini] "I'll tell you when There will be a Muslim Malcom X. When Afghan Shia changes his name to Afghan MUSLIM ..."

Hear hear. Now that is indeed a worthy sentiment ...

[bazini] "and when he stops cursing Sunni's as part of his daily prayers as required by his cult."

... although the second part of the statement is perhaps not as wise as the first.

Come, guys, is there really such a difference between Sunna and Shia?

Gravatar Eh, that should be alzabini'. Sorry.

Gravatar OK, I've read the previous threads now. The threads where Alzabini and AfghanShia go at it hammer and tongs.

Whew!

No need to divide and rule at all, I guess ... you guys do it all on your own. The smallest spark and WHOUF! the entire place goes up in flames. The situation in Iraq makes more sense than ever.

Thank GOD I'm an ATHEIST.

Yes, that was on purpose.

Gravatar Mojo,

Thank you for posting Freidman's article. I usually read his Arabic-translated articles on Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper. I don't have a TimeSelect account :-(

Gravatar Honor and pride, that is what it is all about...no need to answer.

This mess reminds me of ignorant children, ignorant in that they have not learned, that to get along in the world, you have to allow others to have honor and pride. Not just yourself.

You also need to learn to share and to help each other to do something that is difficult or even if it is not.

It all boils down to what was told to us thousands of years ago.

Treat others as you would like to be treated. Love others as you would like to be loved.

It's that simple.

Gravatar Strange, I've heard that before about people not liking Friedman. Yet I've found him to be a very intelligent and talented analyst. I thought his book "From Beirut to Jerusalem" was just excellent. As is this article you posted Mojo.

Can anybody clue me in on why people don't like him?

Gravatar Many Arabs don't like him because they believe that he distorts the history of the Palestine-Israel conflict, or that he ignores Israeli atrocities and culpability.

After my father read 'From Beirut to Jerusalem' he told me it's a good book, but the author is biased.

Gravatar That's interesting. That was the first book I read where someone made me understand better the plight of Palestinians.

It's not always easy when you're sitting in a country like the United States to understand the kind of situation you find there. I've never experienced that kind of oppression(Palestinians) or insecurity(Israelis).

(I know many people feel more insecure here after 9/11, but it's really not something I've felt.)

Gravatar Yeah the Palestinians have had it pretty bad since 1947, and many Jews have written about the plight of the Palestinians. Even Israelis have written about the oppression of Palestinians. We Americans are very lucky to have relative peace and security.

I gotta read that book From Beirut to Jerusalem.

See how another Sunni Arab has infiltrated America, media, and politics to manipulate it for the Sunni Arab's favor.

Gravatar [IA]"That's awesome gilgamesh! Thanks."

What is awesome? U mean u read the arabic text to say that?

I want an answer.

Gravatar Freidman is all wet. MLK wouldn't have lasted a day in Iraq. Come to think of it, he didn't last very long in Memphis either.
