Hey Mojo, is it true that you want to bang Layla Anwar ??????

Gravatar Speculators are our friends. They allow us to set oil and coal prices based availability and desire. This sometimes leads to bubbles, as they did with technology stocks and US real estate, but bubbles always burst. By contrast, Saddam set energy prices and availability in Iraq based on the requirements of his personal control.

The recent spike in the price of energy and global warming (which has been negative for the last 6 years at least) are analogous and somewhat intertwined.

Analogous because neither can be managed by a single human decision-making body (government, coaltion, whatever). Nor should any attempt be made to do so, because, 1) what is so perfect about the current global temperature, and if it isn't perfect, what is the rational for managing the end of the hydrocarbon-based civilization rather than letting it end naturally (if your dad is right that it soon will)? 2) What is so perfect about current energy prices? What is the "righteous" price? Why should any one person or group get to say?

Interwined because all goverment-managed policies to counter global warming are centered on limiting the supply of oil, coal, and --yes-- natural gas, through mandated price increases and limitations on exploration and refining. This contributes (but only contributes) to the price increases (unlike taxes which effect them directly). Still, the energy price spike is only catastrophic for less affluent people who don't get elected to parliaments and congresses, so who cares, right?.

Yet, higher energy costs due to naturally decreasing supply could be borne if increases in the relative affluence of a society were encouraged. For example, Wharton Econometrics Forecasting Associates estimates that drilling in ANWR alone could create over 700K jobs.

Also, anything to keep the general supplies of the cheapest, most efficient energies (carbon-based) available will add to the mean affluence of society. (And please please please end bio-fuel subsidies.)

So, the best way to favor new (supposedly) cleaner energy technologies would be policies favoring *any* of the lucrative, high-paying energy industries (oil, coal, whatever). Hybrid vehicles, like IPODs, don't make sense economically. They're luxuries. If you want people to use solar and to buy local produce, then let them get affluent enough to afford them.

Gravatar There ya have it, according to CMAR: stock bubbles are good, especially because they burst. The housing bubble has been great for America, for example.

The Dutch intelligence service, the AIVD, has called off an operation aimed at infiltrating and sabotaging Iran's weapons industry due to an assessment that a US attack on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program is imminent, according to a report in the country's De Telegraaf newspaper on Friday.
The report claimed that the Dutch operation had been "extremely successful," and had been stopped because the US military was planning to hit targets that were "connected with the Dutch espionage action."

Aton is still living in 2001.

Figures.

Many western agencies (and non western agencies such as RAW, Japanese and South Korean intelligence) work together on a variety of projects.

Many countries perceive Iran's nuclear program to be a bigger threat than America does. Therefor, it isn't surprising that Dutch intelligence in collaboration with other intelligence agencies are developing plans to dismantle Iran's program. However, the Dutch would only be contributing to a much larger program, not "leading it."

More than 90% of supposedly talented reporters are full of hot air. Therefore this writer doesn't seem to have a clue about the context of what he heard and reported.

Bruno is smarter than most reporters. But he is far dumber, worse informed and misinformed than he imagines.

Gravatar Wow, Anand, thanks so much for your generalised puffed-up post that essentially relays your uninformed, unenlightened opinion as fact.

Maybe I should have a go.

That was an excellent stated conclusion for most of anand's posts Bruno...

By Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich
The recent De Telegraaf article ‘revealing’ the Dutch intelligence cooperation with the CIA is a propaganda piece aimed at undermining the credibility of United Nations, its specialized agency, the IAEA, and its chief Mohammad ElBaradei. It also seeks to demoralize the Iranians and undermine their resolve in confronting outside enemies.
