Look, Mojo, Pres Obama said in the campaign that even genocide was not sufficient reason to NOT hastily withdraw US troops. No, he doesn't think Iraqis are all that valuable.
On the plus side, he doesn't seem to concerned about the Iranian protesters either.

@CMAR II: As to the Iranians--it's not a matter of caring or not, the President's responsibility is not Iran. Action by the US would be considered interference at best and war at worst.
I can't reply to the genocide comment bc I hadn't heard that. That IS sad...is it ignorant of me to say that a withdrawal of the US troops would cause an increase in violence no matter what? That a sooner withdrawal is preferable to later, so as to prevent another Vietnam?
@Mojo: It's a matter of publicity, which is stupid and sucks. That's not the first time something like this has happened and it definitely won't be the last. If it helps any, I'll be pointing to this post whenever someone mentions Iran near me.
