Get the fuck outta here. The Cubs are chokers, year-in and year-out. My fuckin' grandfather told me that in 1984 and I laughed.
I'm not laughing now, a QUARTER OF A FUCKING CENTURY LATER.
Fuck this team. I'll draw a random team out of a fucking hat and root for them. You're not gonna fool me for the FIFTH FUCKING TIME YOU BUNCH OF FUCKS.

Bah, good write up.
Guy at work was crying friday morning about how he felt he wasted the whole year following the team.
I was like WTF?
I'm pissed that the offense didn't show up ready to play and the pitchers seemed to lose their minds.
BUt I don't feel like I wasted a season or the past 30 seasons that i've watched baseball.
I enjoy the game and all that goes with it.
Never a waste of time as far as i'm concerned.

The waste of time argument makes no sense. To me following these clowns in years like 2006 was a bigger waste of time in my mind. Yeah it sucks balls but the season was still a good one. They had back to back division titles for the first time in ages. Despite the limp play in the postseason this team is still on the right track long term.
Also while we can sit here and discuss how the Cubs choked until we're blue in the face, let's not discount how well the Dodgers played. Lowe, Billingsley and Kuroda all pitched their asses off. Martin, Manny, Ethier, Loney is going to give whoever they play fits.
I've had my fill of Dick Stockton for a while. At least in football Troy Aikman can counter Dick's dementia pretty well.
Did anyone else feel like Ron Darling really hated the Cubs? He just seemed like kind of a dick.

I agree with the Ron Darling comment, they just used him instead of Joe Morgan...To be a true fan, you MUST stick with your team through the good (back to back titles) and the bad, (Blowing up in the series that counts!). You can't pick a team and jump on the bandwagon like everyone else!! The Cubs aren't the only chokers in sports, what about our Olympic relay teams this year? You train your entire life for one moment in time and DROP THE BATON!! Cubbies dropped the baton big time, but they will come back, I would much rather cheer for a team with some suspense and drama than just be handed a ring (NY Yankees!)...BORING! I'm a true, devoted Cub fan and most importantly a BASEBALL fan!!

Yeah, Joe Morgan is an Asshole, but Ron Darling is a Dick.
Any idea on who's the Taint?
anyhow. I stick with my teams good or bad.
Raiders fan for longer than I've been a Cubs fan.
The only bright spot in my sports life the past 30 years has been the Lakers. Though I havn't been able to watch many games since moving to the midwest.

The Cubs didn't choke. They simply didn't show up.
Jake, go root for the Dodgers.

Dodger pitching was unreal in this series. Couple that with ice cold Cub bats and that was all she wrote. I didn't complain about the botched call at third in the first inning last night, because it felt like whining. I've no doubt that the Dodgers would have won the game anyway, but holy shit, what a lousy piece of umpiring. A guy slides into a tag that's right in front of you in a playoff game and you miss it? Jesus Christ. The ump cost the Cubs 2 runs and that was the final nail in the coffin for any kind of spirit this team might have had. Again, let me reiterate that I believe the Dodgers would have won anyway, but what a kick in the crotch.
I watched most of the first game listening to the TBS announcers and then gave up on them and switched to Pat and Ron.

And Mr. "No", fuck you. Pick a team out of a hat, go ahead. But the Cubs will win eventually. There is no curse, there's just good baseball and bad baseball. The Cubs are hardly the first good team to fold in the playoffs, they just get more press than the others. Look at the Rockies last year. They swept both NL series and then didn't show up for the WS. It happens to plenty of teams, the only difference being the baggage the Cubs carry. Sack up.
