Right on. This is a day to celebrate the life of a truly great American. Slowly but surely the past few years, the powers that be seem to be fazing it out. If you're white and complain, people think you just want a free day off. If you're black and you complain they fire you.

I agree %100 with this sentiment. The only time I ever got MLK day off was when I worked for the state of South Carolina (of course, we also got Confederate Memorial Day off).

You'll need to qualify government employees as federal - I work local gov't and I was working today.

What irritates me is the kids get a day off school, and it seems to me they should be in school learning what MLK Jr and his dream were all about.
