Geez, that WAS quick... You're right, this is one inexplicable, inexcusable move. Props to DeRosa for filling in, but LF is, I believe, Thunder's natural position, is it not? The whole reason they've kept him through the winter, spring training, etc. is for situations exactly like this. So where the hell is Thunder Matt? I'd like to grab Hendry by the lapels and shake him.

If it is about options, I could see the Cubbies being concerned with losing leverage in any pending Murton deals.
